St. Landry Parish extends curfew, adjusts hours

St. Landry Parish has extended a parish-wide adult and juvenile curfew until May 15 to coincide with the state’s stay-at-home order as part of the response to the outbreak of the coronavirus. Parish Government did adjust the times of the curfew. The curfew is now 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily.

President Trump invites Gov. Edwards to Oval Office

Amid frustrated groans from many furloughed workers and many in the business community, Governor John Bel Edwards took the advice of his cabinet and healthcare experts Monday and announced, "I am extending the Stay-at-Home order from April 30 to May 15.

Harry Lee LaFleur

Harry LaFleur passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at the age of 86. A private graveside service was held on Friday, May 1, 2020 at St Paul Cemetery with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating. Harry founded the Cajun French Music Association in November of 1984.

Marilyn Kay Hall

Marilyn Kay Hall passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020 at the age of 60. No Services have been planned at this time.

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. April 29 Cordero R. Anderson, 31, 500 block of Lewis, Eunice. Aggravated flight in a vehicle, driver’s license suspension/revocation of license. Christopher Launey Arnaud, 25, 200 block of Thayer, Eunice.

Free lunch for elderly at Southeast Center Restoring God’s Glory Ministries is providing free lunches for the elderly, veterans and disabled from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Southeast Neighborhood Center, at 101 City Avenue in Eunice. Delivery is available also.
