The Louisiana Department of Health on Monday began posting an interactive map of COVID-19 cases by census tract. The map is part of the department’s dashboard of COVID-19 data at ldh.la.gov/coronavirus/ The map helps answer the public’s question about how close the virus is hitting to home.

Survey shows crawfish income down, season shortened

Results from a survey of crawfish producers show that decreased demand for their product is resulting in lost income of about $500 an acre and a season that could end about 40 days sooner than usual in some cases.

29 dead in St. Landry Parish from COVID-19

There have been 29 deaths from COVID-19 in St. Landry Parish as of the noon Wednesday report on the Louisiana Department of Health’s website, ldh.la.gov/coronavirus. There have been 140 cases in St. Landry Parish.

Anna Mae Doucet Thibodeaux

Mrs. Anna Mae Doucet Thibodeaux, 72, departed this life on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles. She was born August 1, 1947, to Carlton and Elizabeth Joyce Doucet in Eunice. She worked for Calcasieu Parish School Board as an educator for 35 years.
