Local farmers markets offer homemade items

Eunice is home to three different farmers markets, and all three set up shop on the first Saturday of every month, May 3. Last Saturday, the Eunice Tractor Supply Farmer’s Market boasted a wide variety of items, including plants, sweets, arts and crafts, pet goats and quail eggs.

I was taking photos for the newspaper at the St. Edmund Spring Fair Saturday when a friend walked up to me and gave me a great big hug. “Congratulations on being named editor at the Eunice newspaper,” she said.

Fabian Jyi Williams, 23, of Rees Street in Breaux Bridge, was arrested and charged with: No Seat Belt; Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (Marijuana); Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of CDS; Illegal Possession of a Machine Gun; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses.

Alert Narcotics Detective Arrests Suspected Dealer

OPELOUSAS — A sharp-eyed St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detective took a suspected drug dealer off the streets and seized marijuana, drug paraphernalia, nearly $7,000 in cash, and a fully-automatic Glock pistol during a traffic stop on May 2.
