Empowerment, achievement focus of Women’s Leadership Conference

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will sponsor a Women’s Leadership Conference designed to empower women, and to recognize several who have long track records of success. The conference will be hosted by the University’s Office for Campus Diversity from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ville Platte Police starting pay raised to $15/hour

Ville Platte police officers received a pay raise from the city council during an evening of heated discussion. Effective immediately, officers will be earning $15 an hour, up from $11.68 an hour.
