Jennings man arrested for livestock theft in Allen Parish

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) Brand Commission arrested a Jefferson Davis Parish man who is accused of stealing seven calves from a public livestock market in Allen Parish. Arrested on Thursday is 34-year-old Kendall L. Rideaux of 17300 block of Gary Road, Jennings.

Crowley man charged with rape, imprisonment

A Crowley man has been arrested after he allegedly held a woman against her will and forced her to have sex with him. Tony J. Trumps, 49, of the 500 block of South Avenue E, has been charged with first-degree rape and false imprisonment, according to Police Chief Jimmy Broussard.

Acadian Medical Center celebrates year’s first baby

Luna Reigh Joubert is the first baby of the new year born at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. Luna was born at 10:51 p.m. Jan. 1 and weighed 7 pounds and 15.8 ounces, and measured 21 inches long. Her parents, Randy Joubert and Thieshia Hampton, are from Eunice.

Johnny Fruge passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the age of 74. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Pastor Terry LaFleur will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
