Free ACT prep class Saturday at Crowley Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson will hold a free ACT prep class on Saturday for all high school students in Acadiana. The class will be held at the Sheriff’s Office, 1037 Capitol Avenue, in Crowley. Classes will begin at 8 a.m. and end about 2 p.m.

Mary Lee Guillory-Vallot

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lee Guillory-Vallot 80, of Killeen, Texas will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Opelousas. Burial will follow the service at St. Ann’s Catholic Church Cemetery.

McNeese releases fall President’s honor List

The President’s Honor List for the fall 2018 semester at McNeese State University has been announced. To be on the President’s Honor List, an undergraduate student must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average or better while carrying at least 15 semester hours.

Leadership EXCEL’s 25th class begins year

The 25th class of the Leadership EXCEL program kicked off a new year with a two-day retreat held at the First Baptist of Crowley on Jan. 17 and 18. Twenty participants from the parishes of Acadia and Jeff Davis are participating in the year-long program.

Tips sought about trailer, wire theft

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the felony theft of a cargo utility trailer and 1,200 pounds of copper wire from Entergy, located at 1134 Osage Trail in northeast Acadia Parish that occurred on Jan. 20.
