Utility crews installing wireless meters in Morgan City

Crews with Aquametrics/Utiliuse will start installing the upgraded wireless meters in Morgan City on Monday. These crews should have a yellow shirt with the company name and or a yellow vest, a police news release said.

Budget barely balanced

Budget projections for the Acadia Parish Police Jury show a decrease in revenues of $2.8 million compared to what the jury was looking at this time last year. However, the majority of that shortage is in the area of grant funding that has ended.

Bobcat pride on display

Bobcat pride was on display at the Eunice Municipal Complex on Monday. The Eunice High Bobcats overcame the Madison Prep Chargers on Friday as well as a thick fog at Bobcat Stadium for much of the game on their way to a 41-12 victory, earning a semifinal spot in the Class 3A football playoffs.

Early voting for the Dec. 8 election continues through Saturday at the Eunice Municipal Complex, 301 South 2nd St. Early voting is also taking place at the registrar of voters office in the courthouse at Opelousas. At the end of voting Tuesday, there had been 1,384 early votes cast in St.

Toys for Tots drive is underway The annual Toys for Tots drive in Eunice is underway. The Eunice Fire Department, at the central station located at 100 Park Avenue, will accept application now until Nov. 30 each day from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
