Opelousas attorney awarded Philanthropist of the Year honor

Bruce Gaudin is the recipient of the 2018 Leaders In Philanthropy Award for St. Landry Parish, an honor presented by Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA) and Hancock Whitney Bank. Gaudin will be recognized during an awards luncheon on Nov. 15 at the Cajundome Convention Center.

Former Eunice residents found trapped in vehicle 30 hours, 1 dead

Two former Eunice residents were found trapped in an overturned convertible deep in a water-filled canal off a remote road in Port Allen on Monday. According to a report on the theadvocate.com Brittany Guillory and Jada Jones were trapped in the vehicle for more than 30 hours.
