The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Sept. 17 Joshua Javier Loera, 30, 1300 block of West Peach Avenue, Eunice. Disturbing the peace and possession of drug paraphernalia. Juvenile, 15, Eunice.

Police: Two arrested at motel

Two men were arrested at a Morgan City motel after one of them committed a battery on an officer, and the other tried to destroy drug evidence, Police Chief James Blair said in a news release. —Donald J. Busse, 51, of Brashear Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:14 p.m.

A growth spurt

VFW pays tribute to returning Guard officer

Louisiana Army National Guard Lt. Col. John Trevino received a hero’s welcome home Saturday during a dinner at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4222 and Auxiliary center in Morgan City. Trevino returned Aug. 22 from a nine-month deployment in Iraq and was honored with words of praise.

CLECO likely pick to provide power to city

Although the decision has not been made official, consultant Jim Poché, of Poché, Prouet and Associates, told the St. Martinville city council Monday that it appears CLECO has tendered the most advantageous bid for providing wholesale electricity to the city.

PPHS’s Perrodins named 2018 Tournoi Pageant Queens

New royalty was crowned Saturday at the Louisiana Tournoi Pageant. The newly crowned queens were Miss Tournoi Queen Taylor Grace Perrodin and Teen Tournoi Queen Riana Perrodin. Taylor Grace Perrodin is the 16-year-old daughter of Brandy and Shannon Joubert and Rory Perrodin.
