Gloria Jeansonne Fuselier passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at the age of 71. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018, at 3:00 PM. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Fr. Clinton Sensat will officiate.

U.S. 190 wreck

HOUMA - Conny Joseph Trahan, 65, of Bourg, passed away on August 17, 2018. Visitation was held Saturday, Aug. 25, from noon until 2 p.m., with a Memorial Service at 2 p.m., at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, West Park.

Inmate accused of striking deputy

A 27-year-old inmate at the St. Mary Parish jail was charged with battery of a corrections officer after striking a deputy, Sheriff Scott Anslum said in a news release. —Aaron Cage, 27, of Third Street in Berwick, was arrested at 3:10 p.m.

Crime Stoppers asks information on stolen tractor and implements

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the felony theft of a tractor that was discovered missing on July 21 from the 200 block of Goodwin Lane in Branch.

Knight pleads no contest to corrupt influencing and bribery charges
