Sattler elated; says he’s got big shoes to fill

Marion “Nootsie” Sattler is the lone city candidate in Eunice to end up unopposed after qualifying closed on Friday for the Nov. 6 election. “I’ve got big shoes to fill,” he commented about his unchallenged bid to succeed Jack Burson as alderman at-large.

Back to School Breakfast Saturday The Parent’s Reach-Out Club will sponsor its Breakfast & Backpacks back to school event beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Southeast Center. There will be a raffle drawing, scholarship presentation, uniforms, clear and mesh backpacks, supplies and breakfast.

Louisiana State Police detectives with the Insurance Fraud / Auto Theft Unit assigned to the Lafayette Field Office arrested five people for violations of Louisiana insurance fraud laws, according to a news release from State Police Troop I.
