Memorial Day: Eunice observes tribute to fallen warriors

A Memorial Day service was held at 5 p.m. Monday at the corner of Park Avenue and 2nd Street in Eunice. The annual event was sponsored by the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of the Foreign Wars, Doucet-Aucoin Post 8971 and the American Legion Post 129 Turner-Mornhinveg Moore.

304 named to LSUE’s spring Chancellor’s List

EUNICE — LSU Eunice has named 304 students to the Spring Semester 2018 Chancellor’s List in recognition of their academic achievement. The list comprises full-time students who maintained at least a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale during the semester.

Film production credits stay in budget

After a heated debate over priorities given the state budget shortfall, a House committee on Friday decided to keep the cap on credits for movies, TV shows and commercials shot in the state at $180 million a year rather than cutting it to $90 million.
