3 indicted by St. Landry Parish Grand Jury — 2 for a killing and a third for rape

Three people are indicted by a St. Landry Parish Grand Jury including a 16-year-old suspect. The 16-year-old and Marques Malik Sonnier, 19, are under indictment for second-degree murder in the death of Kendrick Lewis, according to St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre.

Marie Louise Savoy Guillory passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the age of 95. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025 at St. Anthony’s with Father Hampton Davis Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.

The free Rendezvous in the Prairie program featured Drew Simon and Megan Constantin, members of the trio T’Monde, performing Cajun standards, their versions of country songs in French and English, and their own original Cajun songs. The program on Thursday was moved outdoors on a beautiful spring evening.
