The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Saturday, April 5-Monday, April 7 Christopher Offord, 42, 800 block of W. Cherry Street, Opelousas. Illegal use of weapons.

Norman James Duplechin

Norman James Duplechin passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the age of 81. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at St Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Sam Fontana Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Thomas More Cemetery.

Daniel Mosbroker

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Daniel Mosbroker announces his passing on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at his sister’s home, surrounded by his wife, siblings and nephews, at the age of 51. No Services have been planned at this time.

Wreck claims life of Eunice pedestrian

A single-vehicle serious injury crash involving a pedestrian on U.S. 190 near Tasso Loop in St. Landry Parish ultimately claimed the life of 47-year-old Andre Phoenix of Eunice. Louisiana State Police troopers were notified of the crash after 8 p.m. Friday.
