The 39th annual St. Landry Parish Cattlemen’s Association will have “Here’s The Beef” Cook-Off on March 15 beginning at 10 a.m. with a non-motorized trail ride and live music by Dylan Aucoin & Judice Ramblers and Jamie Bergeron & The Kickin’ Cajuns.

I was talking to a friend the other day about another friend, who has been going through a difficult period ever since Hamas massacred peaceful Jews in Gaza a year and a half ago.
Our common friend is a quiet woman, someone who keeps her sorrows to herself.

Our new president has stirred up a hornet’s nest by declaring that we no longer have a Gulf of Mexico. From now on, all government references will be to the Gulf of America.
I grew up along the Gulf Coast, spending just about every summer there that I can remember.

Prairie Acadian Cultural Center reopens

‘It has been a long 5 years’
Despite mass firings coming out of Washington, D.C., the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center reopened on Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Center has been closed since 2019 due to renovations and the Covid pandemic.
