The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Thursday, Nov. 7 Cody Arclese, 28, 400 block of Martel Street, Opelousas. Disturbing the peace. Arrested by Opelousas Police.

EUNICE–It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lynne Veillon Hatler announces her passing on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Heart Hospital in Lafayette at the age of 67. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m.

Arizona jockey arrested for falsifying racing documents and possession of shocking devices

Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division troopers conducted an investigation on Nov. 7 following reports of misconduct involving race jockey Martin Osuna. The incident occurred at the Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino (EVDRC) in Opelousas.

Acadia Parish man arrested for indecent behavior with a juvenile

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested an Acadia Parish man on 15 counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile. Detectives were notified by the Department of Child Protection Services in reference to a minor child being touched by a family member inappropriately.

Sandbags are available for parish residents at the Yambilee Building, 1939 W. Landry Street in Opelousas, today, Nov. 9. Distribution begins at 9 a.m.
