The following are excerpts from the Eunice Police Department radio dispatch logs. Wednesday, Nov. 6 10:30 a.m. Welfare check on a subject in the 800 block of Park. 11:31 a.m. Caller in the 400 block of Cotton requested an officer in regards to a subject threatening to harm himself.

St. Landry Parish burn ban lifted

St. Landry Parish Government is lifting the parish-wide burn ban, effective Thursday. The decision comes as rainfall has significantly reduced fire risks in the area. Residents are now permitted to resume outdoor burning activities but are urged to exercise caution to prevent accidental fires.

Ena Mae Lafleur Bertrand

Ena Mae Lafleur Bertrand passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the age of 94. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
