Reverend William “Gary” Mitchell passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the age of 81. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Chataignier with Reverend Rickey Boone officiating.
The dust was flying as heavy equipment worked on the demolition of the old Moosa Memorial Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. By Thursday, the central two-story portion of the building was left standing alone. Another portion of the structure remained on the north side. LAFAYETTE — A University of Louisiana at Lafayette researcher is leading a study to investigate the significant, complex role of natural methane seepage in the ocean’s carbon cycle. The research is being funded with a $2,995,000 grant from the National Science Foundation’s Ocean Sciences Division.

Somewhere toward the middle of baseball season, I invariably begin to think about hot dog relish, and it’s not as disconnected as you think. The best hot dogs I have ever eaten came from the concession stand beneath the stadium at Legion Field in Lake Charles.
