Acadia, Evangeline parish DOTD project bid results

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that 15 projects around the state received bids in April. Twelve contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $29.8 million.

Vision for downtown pleases

Among those pleased by a new vision for downtown Eunice presented Thursday after three days of study is Mayor Scott Fontenot. “It was a wonderful presentation. I’m very excited about the possibility of reconfiguring 2nd Street to two-way and adding more parking down there,” he said.

Pickleball courts are on the way

Are you a pickleball player? If so, there is exciting news on the way. Dirt work was being done by workers with heavy equipment on Tuesday where construction of four pickleball courts will be built. The courts will be off of Fairground Avenue in the back area of the Fairground tennis courts.
