Eunice Police seek escapee

Law enforcement officers in Eunice are searching in the North St Mary Road area for an inmate who escaped from the Acadian Medical Center while being treated. He was accompanied by a jailer at the time. The inmate is identified as Andrew Morrison, 46,  black male, 5’9”, 210 lbs, bald.

Love the Boot Week was bigger than ever thanks to the 19,441 people who dedicated 100,712 hours to cleaning up and beautifying Louisiana, according to a news release from Keep Louisiana Beautiful. A record 347 tons of litter were removed at 760 events in all 64 parishes.

Coroner’s proposal put on hold

The Eunice Board of Aldermen put a hold on a request to construct a cooler next to the Southeast Community Center. St. Landry Parish Coroner Dr. Zebediah Stearns and Toby Savoy, chief investigator, appeared at Tuesday’s meeting.
