KEB Clean-up Day is Saturday The statewide Love the Boot cleanup will be from 8:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. with registration Saturday at the Eunice City Hall. All supply pickup will be located in the lobby of city hall. Volunteers will be asked to pick up all trash from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

Ville Platte alderwoman indicted for election fraud

Prosecutors with Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office obtained a 36 count grand jury indictment in Evangeline Parish on April 10 regarding voter fraud between May and November of 2022 during the general election.

Stolen accordions landed in Eunice pawn shop

Two Martin brand accordions stolen in a burglary in the 5900 block of Vine Street in Chataignier were located at a Eunice pawn shop, according to a news release from the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office. The burglary occurred on March 20.

Landry emergency declaration for severe storms, tornadoes includes St. Landry Parish

Following his visit to some of the hardest hit areas, Gov. Jeff Landry signed an emergency declaration for the severe storms and tornadoes that took place on April 10. The declaration permits the use of state resources to assist with the recovery process in each of the affected parishes.
