St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Saturday, April 6-Monday, April 8 Charles Daryl Ledet, 60, 3300 block of Highway 741, Port Barre. Stop sign violation, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule II CDS (2 counts).

Update: Homicide victim identified

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz identified the victim of Monday’s shooting outside Eunice as 19-year-old Roy Guillory Jr., of Eunice. In a statement released Tuesday, Guidroz stated Guillory died Monday as a result of gunshot wounds.

Allen Gus Miller

EUNICE–It is with heavy hearts that the family of Allen Gus Miller announces his unexpected passing. He was 96 years old. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on April 9, 2024 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice. A burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Hampton Davis, officiating.

Jana Guillory Prejean

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Jana Guillory Prejean, age 77, who passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at her residence in Scott.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Thursday, April 4 Carmichael Seraille, 18, 100 block of Ranch Road, Opelousas. Possession of Schedule V CDS. Arrested by Opelousas Police. Daylin Dshawn Chachere, 21, 1700 block of Parkview Drive, Opelousas.

Belly Buddies Color Fun Run set April 13 There will be a Belly Buddies Color Fun Run in downtown Eunice from 10 a.m. until noon on April 13. All proceeds will go to Belly Buddies, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide food to Eunice’s most vulnerable students.
