STEAM Innovation Center is a major project for LSUE

LSUE’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and Mathematics) Innovation Center a major project. In addition to the $3.25 million in federal funding, LSUE Chancellor Nancee Sorenson said $27.5 million in state funding is in the works to renovate the oldest building on the campus.

One of those strange things about politics happened when an announcement was made that Louisiana State University Eunice is to receive $3.25 million in federal funding for its STEAM Innovation Center.

Fire damages body shop

A fire reported at about 10:25 p.m. Monday at Kurn’s Paint & Body Shop, 601 E. Laurel Ave., Eunice, took firefighters about four hours to declared it extinguished. Eunice and Fire District 6 firefighters responded to fire as police block traffic in both lanes of U.S. 190 and on North St.
