Homicide investigated near Crowley

The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide. The incident is believed to have occurred Sunday evening at Kathy Apartments just west of Crowley as deputies were called for a shots fired incident. No one was reported injured at that time.

Free live music at the Depot Museum The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center will sponsor free live music every second Saturday of the month at the Depot Museum, located at 220 S. CC Duson in Eunice. From 1 to 2 p.m. July 8 Shawn Saucier Trio will entertain the public.

Eunice residents charged in kidnapping of Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputy

Three Eunice residents are charged in the kidnapping of an Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputy, according to a news release from Sheriff KP Gibson. On June 27, a deputy was following up on a criminal investigation.

This year at the Southern Plant Trials, I fell in love with the herbaceous perennial agastache. This perennial stood out to me with its profuse blooms and delightful fragrance. At each location I visited, the agastache was buzzing with pollinators.

Shooter shot drug suspect’s mother in the face

A drug suspect’s mother was shot in the face shortly early Friday in the 400 block of East Maple Avenue in Eunice, according to Police Chief Kyle LeBouef. Police were dispatched in reference to a woman being shot while inside a residence.
