Eunice man sentenced to life in prison

A Eunice man, Leonard Miller, was sentenced to life in prison for the April 2022 killing of Clarence Mitchell, also of Eunice. St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre announced the sentenced in a news release. The sentenced was delivered on May 9.

Man dies after sucker punch

Stevin Lafleur, 34, of Eunice, died after a sucker punch knocked him to the ground outside a bar in the 200 block of South 2nd Street, said Police Chief Kyle LeBouef. The attack occurred at about 1:40 a.m. May 5.

Babineaux Sisters to perform Saturday in Eunice

The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center is partnering with the Eunice Depot Museum to bring back the live, acoustic music programs that were previously held at the center. The music programs will take place every second Saturday, beginning this Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.
