Victim dies from a fatal shooting in Eunice

A 32-year-old Eunice man, Jeddimyer K Vallare, died after being shot in the 900 block West Walnut, according to a news release from Eunice Police Chief Kyle LeBouef. Police responded to the scene at 10:20 p.m. Thursday in reference to shots being fired.

St. Landry Parish School Board votes superintendent out; 8 apply for the job

The St. Landry Parish School Board voted to end Superintendent Patrick Jenkins tenure after a closed session on April 6. The action was termed as a “buyout” of the superintendent who declared in February he would not seek renewal of his contract past June 30.
