St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz, in conjunction with OCV Apps, has created a new mobile application for Android and iPhone users. The app is available in the App Store and on Google play.

LABI eyes insurance, tax reform budget and education in session

(March 30) — Some good things can happen in the upcoming Legislative Session. Some good things can happen in the upcoming statewide elections. Unfortunately, because of the latter, officials with the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry are not very hopeful about the former.

School Board to learn who superintendent applicants are this week

The St. Landry Parish School Board is to learn this week who has applied for the superintendent’s job. Courtney Joiner, the Board’s attorney, said he and the superintendent’s secretary will retrieve the applications from a post office box on Tuesday. Applications were due March 24.

Do schools need a single policy on violence?

New St. Landry Parish School Board member Tiffany Nolan presented her version of a school violence policy, but it was shelved during an Executive Committee meeting on March 27. “I think it is something we need to address,” she said. “We are really facing some things here when it comes to violence.
