Dept. of Veterans Affairs office in Eunice The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs has relocated its office in Eunice to the Northwest Community Center at 501 Samuel Drive. The office is open every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. except for State and Federal holidays.

Clean up those dull, rusty garden tools before pruning

Benjamin Franklin said, “The best investment is in the tools of one’s own trade.” I would take that one step further and say that taking care of one’s tools is insurance on your investment. Everything requires a little maintenance, and garden tools are no exception.

Rep. Johnson to hold town hall in Opelousas

U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) will hold a town hall meeting on Monday to provide updates from Washington and take questions from constituents. The town hall event is open to the public and open to the media. The town hall in St. Landry Parish is scheduled from 2;30 to 3;30 p.m.

Eunice Mardi Gras launches with Taster’s Choice

The Cajun Mardi Gras Festival in Eunice begins Wednesday and is focused on the intersection of Walnut Avenue and 2nd Street. The Eunice Community Health Center is bringing back the 12th Annual Taster’s Choice at the LSUE Mumphrey Center from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 15.

Try to pass wildlife legislation

Dear Editor The U.S. Congress failed just short in December of passing a once-in-a-generation opportunity to help protect our national wildlife heritage. The Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (RAWA) would have provided Louisiana with around $15.
