The death of Queen Elizabeth II prompted Eunice resident Donna Baltakis to share her encounter with the queen. The queen died at the age of 96 on Thursday at Balmoral Castle in Scotland after serving 70 years on the throne.

It is with great sadness that the family of Leroy “22” Monday announces his passing on Friday, August 26 at 1:30 a.m. at the University Medical Center in Lafayette. He was 59. A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, September 10 from 10 a.m.

Driver dies after single-vehicle crash in St. Landry Parish

A single-vehicle crash on La. 103 at the intersection of Church Road in St. Landry Parish claimed the life of 59-year-old Philip Gilyard of Leonville, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I. Police were notified of the crash at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
