Shirley Aguillard Cosper

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church in Lafayette for Shirley Aguillard Cosper, 86, who passed away Friday afternoon, August 26, 2022, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.

Opelousas General Health System Foundation hosts non-profit beneficiaries of employee giving

The OGHS Foundation will host the non-profit beneficiaries of employee giving at a luncheon event scheduled in the OGHS Auditorium from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Tri-Parish workforce increases

The Tr-Parish workforce increased by 0.5% or 351 people in July compared to July 2021, according to the Louisiana Workforce Commission. The Commission released employment data for nine metropolitan statistical areas and 64 parishes on Monday.

Jitters over gun violence were evident at Friday night’s St. Landry Parish Jamboree. The jamboree was cut short when panic about a possible shooting overwhelmed the crowd at Donald Gardner Stadium.
