$25M distributed for mortgage assistance in La.

The state of Louisiana has distributed $25.4 million in mortgage assistance to 2,769 homeowners through the Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Fund, a federally funded relief program for homeowners financially affected by COVID-19 who are behind on their mortgages and at risk of foreclosure.

Spectrum awarded Gumbo grant for St. Landry Parish

Spectrum announced it has been awarded a $1.45 million grant to bring gigabit high-speed internet access to over 300 homes and small businesses in St. Landry Parish.

Cassidy announces health education grant at LSUE

U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, M.D.announced that Louisiana State University Eunice has been granted $1 million dollars in funding from Congress, via the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2022.

Tourism took a deep hit when the COVID pandemic forced people to stay home starting in March 2020. In Eunice, that was combined with the closing of the Liberty Theatre and Jean Lafitte Prairie Acadian Culture Center. Both are shutdown for repairs.

Collier and her late sister, Ethel Tate, owned and managed Mary Collier Fashions from 1966 until 1984. It was a morning to celebrate Friday because Eunice Manor resident Mary Collier would turn 100 years old on Sunday. Collier, born on Aug. 21, 1922, in Ville Platte, is last surviving child from her family.
