I, Scott Fontenot, am asking for your support for the office of mayor. I am a 40 year old lifelong resident of Eunice. I am married to Katie Smith Fontenot, an educator at Eunice High School. Together we have two children, Anzley, 19, and Wesley, 16.

Clerk’s process moves from paper to digital

Rotary Club guest speaker Charles Jagneaux, St. Landry Parish Clerk of Court, who has served for the past 30 years, gave a brief outline of what the clerk of court does. The St. Landry Parish Clerk of Court office has a staff of 40 people along with four or five personnel working part time, he said.

Parish sales collections rose in June

St. Landry Parish sales tax collections continued an upward trend in June when they posted a 5.8% year-to-date increase compared to the same period in 2021, according to statistics released by the St. Landry Parish School Board tax division.

Cynthia Fink Ardoin, 76, passed away peacefully July 11, 2022. Cynthia was a native of Eunice, LA and resident of Houma, LA. A visitation will be held in her honor on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the Liturgy of the Word at 12 noon in Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma, LA.

Joyce Marie Mott Fruge

Joyce Marie Mott Fruge passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the age of 83. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Mausoleum.

Keil Martin Murray passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the age of 46. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Sam Fontana Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Thomas More Cemetery.
