The following are arrests by Eunice Police. February 28 Aubrey Joseph Fontenot, 29, 300 block of Mayers, Eunice. Simple battery. Haley Brooke Romero, 24, 600 block of Reed, Eunice. Disturbing the peace. March 1 Garrett Matte, 34, 1000 block of S. Lewis, Basile.

Juvenile charged in shotgun death

A 14-year-old juvenile has been charged in the shotgun-shooting death of a 15-year-old boy in June 2021. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said the death was first reported as a suicide, but as an investigation unfolded it became clear it was an accidental shooting.

Cecil Joseph LeBlue

Cecil Joseph LeBlue passed away (25 days after his wife) on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the age of 78. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. February 25 Dustin Guillory, 29, 2100 block of Brigman Hwy., Church Point. Probation warrant. Walter Deshawn Enny, 6700 block of Guillory Rd., Church Point. Battery of a dating partner. John F. Lute, 35, 500 block of East Ash, Eunice. Probation warrant.
