Longtime area publisher dies at 94

Richard E. D’Aquin, longtime publisher of The Advertiser in Lafayette who was steeped in state and community affairs, died Saturday. He was 94.

Auditor: School Board finances ‘excellent’

The St. Landry Parish School Board’s General Fund balance is “excellent” and the district had a “fantastic” year, auditor Casey Ardoin said in a report to the Finance Committee on Monday. The audit for the year ending June 30, 2021, found the school district operating in the black.
