Former Eunice Police Chief Gary Fontenot dies

Former Eunice Police Chief Gary “Goose” Fontenot died Friday afternoon, according to his son, Mayor Scott Fontenot. The former police chief, an iconic figure in Eunice, had been in failing health for several years. He was 69 years old. Scott Fontenot said arrangement are pending.

Christmas parade is 'phenomenal'

The community Christmas Parade returned to Eunice in a big way Thursday night. “Phenomenal,” said parade organizer Nickie Toups on Friday. Toups is president of the Eunice Chamber of Commerce, which spearheaded the parade along with the city government and the Rotary Club.

Eunice Airport included in $35.7M infrastructure funding

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana’s airports will receive $35,689,010 million in funding this year from his bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
