Are you too old for Santa Claus?

Children all over the United States are currently wringing their iPhone-calloused hands over the possibility that Santa Claus might not make it this year because he’s trapped in a delayed shipping container somewhere off the coast of California. The situation is a little different at my house.

How is your self-image this Christmas?

I distinctly remember what I ate for supper on Christmas Eve 50 years ago. Not the entrée perhaps, but certainly the vegetable. My mother served stewed potatoes (“potato slopters,” as she dubbed them).

Tractor seat plant brings color to fall, winter landscapes

If you are looking to add a splash of bright color to shaded areas in the fall and early winter, ligularia is an excellent choice. Many people commonly refer to it as tractor seat plant, as the shape of the leaf resembles one.

Christmas ham winners announced

The Eunice News Christmas Ham Giveaway winners have been drawn. The vouchers for the hams are to be picked up at The Eunice News, 465 Aymond St.. The office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. The office will be closed Dec. 24.

Eunice High gets its own newspaper

What turned out to be a Eunice High School junior student inquiring about a possibile new club is now a reality, and students named their newspaper, “The Eunice Chronicles.” The club sponsors are Therese Gianfala and Katie Fontenot.
