Eunice Parade of Lights set Dec. 16 The Eunice Parade of Lights (Eunice Christmas Parade) is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16. The route will begin at North 2nd St. near The Flower House and will conclude at Eunice Jr. High School. Every float, trailer will be decked with Christmas lights.

Kervin Aucoin, Jr. passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the age of 69. A Funeral Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with Reverend David Newton officiating. Cremation will follow services.

Sex offender arrested in Acadia Parish for banned social media use

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a sex offender for unlawful use of social media. Sheriff K.P. Gibson stated Brandon L. Brown, 39, of Iota, was operating a social media account under a fake name. Brown was booked into the parish jail and bail was set at $15,000.

Two arrested in St. Landry Parish for stolen livestock

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) Livestock Brand Commission arrested two men in St. Landry Parish accused of stealing horses in Lafayette Parish.

Early voting set for Eunice road tax election

Early voting is scheduled Nov. 27 to Dec. 4 at the Eunice Municipal Complex for a tax renewal election. The election is scheduled on Dec. 11. Cheryl Milburn, parish registrar of voters, stated early voting also will be held at the registrar’s office, 118 S. Court St., Opelousas, Suite 114.
