Tony Mason, 44, of Krotz Springs was arrested on June 28 and charged with two counts of first degree rape. His bond was $500,000.
Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz stated, “On June 28, the St. Landry Parish Juvenile Detectives section investigated a complaint of a juvenile being sexually abused.”
The juvenile stated she was assaulted by Mason on two separate occasions and tried to fight him off but was unable.
After key evidence and statements were obtained, Mason was questioned then arrested and booked at the parish jail. Mason admitted to inappropriately touching the juvenile but denied going any further with the child.
Sheriff Guidroz stated, “This is a tragic case and parents should talk to their kids about any and all inappropriate actions being done to them and report it immediately to authorities. Guidroz added he would like to thank the Department of Children and Family Services who assisted in the case.”
