Another Crowley woman suffers critical injuries

Queyaishious Harmon, 23, of Crowley, was killed in a two-vehicle crash on La. 724 at Landry Road near Judice at about 2:30 p.m. Friday, according to a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release.
Harmon was driving a 1998 Honda Civic westbound on Landry Road and failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with La. 724, police said.
At the same time, 66-year-old Julie Byers of Crowley was driving a 2006 Ford Expedition northbound on La. 724 and as the Honda entered the intersection, it was struck on its driver’s side by the Ford, police said.
After impact, the Ford and Honda traveled off of the roadway and came to rest against a tree.
Harmon was not wearing a seat belt and sustained fatal injuries, police said. She was pronounced dead on scene by a Lafayette Parish Coroner’s Office representative.
The front seat passenger, 25-year-old Kira Harmon, of Crowley was not wearing a seat belt and sustained critical injuries, police said. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Byers was wearing a seat belt and sustained moderate injuries, police said. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Impairment is not suspected; however, routine toxicology samples were taken from Harmon and Byers and the results are pending. This crash remains under investigation.
