Man accused of drugging, having sex with girl ends up in jail

A 19-year-old Eunice man is accused of giving an underage girl drugs then having sex with her, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz in a news release.
Gary Lafleur III, 1300 block of Rozas Road, Eunice, was charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile on Oct. 18, Guidroz stated.
The father of the girl reported she was given drugs than engaged in sexual intercourse with Lafleur, Guidroz stated.
The girl was taken a hospital for treatment then released.
“Gary Lafleur was taken into custody after the interview with detectives where he confessed to the alleged crime. Lafleur was out on bond for gun charges when he was arrested,” the news release stated.
Lafleur was being held in the St. Landry Parish Jail on $10,000 bail. He faced a revocation hearing.
Guidroz said, “In the last weeks around Acadiana there have been reports of adult and juvenile sexual relationships. Anytime an adult is involved with an underage male or female it is against the law. A minor/juvenile cannot consent and it is up to the responsible adult to not be involved in any relationship of any kind.”
