Weather to fuel car, truck show attendance

The Classic Car &Truck Show is returning to the Experience Louisiana Festival on Saturday.
Mark Denette, mayor of Basile, is organizing the show.
“If we have good weather I think this is going to be big,” he said at the Thursday Eunice Kiwanis Club meeting.
The forecast for Saturday and Sunday indicates highs in 70s and lows in 50s with partly cloudy skies on Saturday and sunny on Sunday.
Denette said his goal is to have more than 100 cars and trucks compete for awards at the show. Registration is from 8 to 10 a.m. and the awards presentation will be held at 2 p.m.
Last year there were 58 entries, he said.
There will be awards for the 30 top and 10 specialty vehicle.
Entries will be open vehicles 1985 and older, with a $20 fee he said.
There will be an area for vehicles to be on display, but not competing, he said.
KEUN will be on hand to play period music.
Proceeds will go to the Louisiana Experience Festival.
