The former Louisiana FFA State Officer and President of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System Dr. Monty Sullivan and Eric Smith, Ph.D, executive director of Agricultural Education, signed an agreement at the LCTCS (Louisiana Community and Technical College System) Board of Directors meeting to offer a one time $500 scholarship to all high graduates who are members of the Louisiana FFA.
This will apply starting with the graduation class of 2017-2018. This spring when students fill out an application for any LCTCS campus there will be an opportunity to indicate they are a member of the Louisiana FFA. If they check that box, it will verify membership of the applicant in our office and once confirmed, they will receive the scholarship towards any LCTCS program of study.
Furthermore, all State Champions in a CDE (Career Development Events) and/or LDE (Leadership Development Event) starting with the 2018 CDE’s will receive $1,000 scholarship to any LCTCS campus.
