CDA 208 ornament fundraiser
Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 208 is currently having a Christmas ornament fundraiser.

First Baptist Christmas Musical Dec. 2
First Baptist Church of Eunice will present its Christmas Musical, “The First Noel-Celebrating the Birth of A King” at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is free, and a nursery is provided.

Toys for Tots applications due Nov. 28
The Eunice Fire Department is taking applications for Toys for Tots. Applications and rules document can be picked up at main station. Deadline for all applications is Nov. 28.
Fire Chief Michael Arnold said that the fire department is also accepting new toys, unwrapped. These can be brought and dropped off at the main fire station on Park Avenue.
Once all applications are collected and completed, they will be brought to the Marine Corps office in Lafayette. The office calls Arnold when the toys are there, and firefighters pick them up. The toys are bagged by application.

Kiwanis Christmas parade set Dec. 7
The annual Kiwanis Christmas parade will be at 5 p.m. Dec. 7.
An award will be given for best float. At the conclusion of the parade, there will be cookies and punch with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the city hall’s lobby area.
Line up is set for 4 p.m. at North 2nd Street near Picou’s Drug Store.

Concealed handgun classes offered
Non-profit classes for a concealed handgun permit is scheduled Dec. 9 at the Masonic Lodge, 211 W. Park Ave., Eunice, according to an announcement from Maj. Eddie Thibodeaux of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The courses include all the requirements needed for application to the state for a carrying a concealed handgun, but does not include the state fee. The course cost $100 and a spouse may attend for another $80.
Classes start at 7:30 a.m. and includes classroom instruction, applications, notary, fingerprints, firing range, a hot lunch, refreshments all day, and a certificate of completion as required by the state.
The course is taught by certified police instructors.
Participants should bring a photo identification, cash or check, handgun and a box of ammunition.

Annual EHS Bobcat Blast set for Dec. 31
The annual Eunice High Bobcat Blast will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 31 at the Northwest Community Ceenter.
Donations of $125 will get you a ticket which will admit 2 adults. All proceeds form the blast will go to EHS Athletic Association.
There will be a steak supper served at 7 p.m. and a dance from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.
There will be cash prizes awarded.

Registration for youth basketball
Eunice Rec invites all youth ages 5-14 to play basketball. Basketball registration is now open until 5 p.m. Dec. 1.

Once registered, you will receive email notifications or important dates and information. Player evaluations will be Dec. 5 and 6 and the season will begin Jan. 6.

Swamp Pop Legends Show set Dec. 10
The Swamp Pop Legends Show will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Liberty Theater.

Free child car seat installation
Free installation of child car safety seats is being offered from 4 to 6 p.m. every Monday at Word Ministries, 1960 W. Laurel Ave., Eunice.
The seats will be installed by a nationally certified technicians.

Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center
Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, 250 W. Park Ave., Eunice, are the Explore & Restore craft workshop for kids, from 10 a.m. to noon; Cajun Conversations meets 1 to 2:30 p.m. to learn and practice conversational Cajun French; Music and dancing kicks off at 2:45 p.m. and ends with the cooking demonstration and sampling at 4 p.m. Admission to the center and programs is free.
