ECCBC Christmas Concert tonight
The Eunice Community Choir, Concert Band & Children’s Choir will present its Christmas Concert, “Dashing Through the Snow,” at 7 p.m. tonight and Friday night at the Liberty Center in Eunice.
The Community Choir, Concert Band, Children’s Choir will also feature an art exhibit by the Fine Arts Council of Eunice (FACE)
Musicial selections will include: “Baby Born in Bethlehem,” “Riggin’ Up the Lights,” “What Will Santa Claus Say?,” “Adore,” “A gorgeous arrangement of O Little Town of Bethlehem”, “A Horse-Drawn Buggy Ride”, “Dashing Through the Snow,” “When Saint Nick Comes Marching In,” “Secret Agent Santa,” “Panis Angelicus,” “Midnight Sleighride and Bundle Up!”

FBC Chataignier Musical set Dec. 17
The choir of First Baptist Church in Chataignier will present a Christmas Musical “O’ Little Town of Bethlehem,” at 10 a.m. Sundy, Dec. 17.

EHS senior toy drive project
Eunice High School seniors Brittany Ledoux, Katie Johnson and De’lana Stevens are having a Christmas Toy Drive as part of their senior project.
Toys will be accepted until Dec. 15. You can help by donating newly packaged unwrapped toys, and can be brought by at Eunice High School. There will be a designated area in front office of school to drop toys.

Rendez-Vous De Cajuns at Liberty
The Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler Au Rendez-Vous De Cajuns is scheduled at the Liberty every from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday with live entertainment.
The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. the show begins at 6 p.m.

Kiwanis Christmas parade set Dec. 7
The annual Kiwanis Christmas parade will be at 5 p.m. Dec. 7.
An award will be given for best float. At the conclusion of the parade, there will be cookies and punch with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the city hall’s lobby area.
Line up is set for 4 p.m. at North 2nd Street near Picou’s Drug Store.

Guillory annual toy drive set Dec. 16
The 27th annual toy drive, sponsored and co-founder by Elbert Guillory, will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Dec. 16 at Elbert Guillory Law Office, 633 E. Landry St., Opelousas. Santa will be on hand, photos taken, and refreshments served.
One hundred percent of money and gift collected will be devoted to children with no adminstrative costs taken. Toys will be distributed through agencies and churches.
One can donate toys or money at the Guillory Law Office.
Black Women Achievements Against The Odds Jan. 28
The city of Eunice invites the public to a festival parade, program and exhibit, “Black Women Against the Odds,” Jan. 28.
Keynote speaker and parade marshal will be a Eunice native Col. Dr. Gwendolyn Hebert Thompson.
There will be a parade beginning at the Southeast Center at 2 p.m. and will conclude at the Liberty Theater with a program at 3 p.m. Afterwards the City Hall lobby will have an exhibit of Black Women Achievement Against the Odds.

Concealed handgun classes offered
Non-profit classes for a concealed handgun permit is scheduled Dec. 9 at the Masonic Lodge, 211 W. Park Ave., Eunice, according to an announcement from Maj. Eddie Thibodeaux of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The courses include all the requirements needed for application to the state for a carrying a concealed handgun, but does not include the state fee. The course cost $100 and a spouse may attend for another $80.
Classes start at 7:30 a.m. and includes classroom instruction, applications, notary, fingerprints, firing range, a hot lunch, refreshments all day, and a certificate of completion as required by the state.
The course is taught by certified police instructors.
Participants should bring a photo identification, cash or check, handgun and a box of ammunition.

Annual EHS Bobcat Blast set for Dec. 31
The annual Eunice High Bobcat Blast will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 31 at the Northwest Community Ceenter.
Donations of $125 will get you a ticket which will admit 2 adults. All proceeds form the blast will go to EHS Athletic Association.
There will be a steak supper served at 7 p.m. and a dance from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.
There will be cash prizes awarded.

Free installation of child car safety seats is being offered from 4 to 6 p.m. every Monday at Word Ministries, 1960 W. Laurel Ave., Eunice.
The seats will be installed by a nationally certified technicians.
Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center
Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, 250 W. Park Ave., Eunice, are the Explore & Restore craft workshop for kids, from 10 a.m. to noon; Cajun Conversations meets 1 to 2:30 p.m. to learn and practice conversational Cajun French; Music and dancing kicks off at 2:45 p.m. and ends with the cooking demonstration and sampling at 4 p.m. Admission to the center and programs is free.

VFW bingo held Thursdays, Sundays
The VFW Post 8971 holds bingo for the public at 7 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday at the VFW Hall located on U.S. 190 East. All proceeds from Bingo games goes back to the community.
