Annual flower show set for April 12-13

The Crowley Garden Club will host its 38th Annual Standard Flower Show this Thursday and Friday, April 12-13.
The theme for this year’s show is “Lights, Camera, Action: It’s Movie Time!”
The show will include both a horticulture division and a design division, as well as an educational exhibit.
The horticulture division is open to all interested amateur gardeners. For more information on how to enter e-mail crowelygardenclub@gmail.com.
The design division, open only to Federated Garden Club members, will feature the following classes:
• “Once Upon a Time in the West” - Westerns: Vignette designs that include functional sections of a room, terrace, patio, or similar area.
• “Creature from the Black Lagoon” - Horror/Science Fiction: Abstract designs.
• “The Sound of Music” - Musicals (including Animated Musicals): Creative mass designs.
• “Die Hard” - Action/Adventure: Creative designs featuring reflective materials.
The show will be held at the main branch of the Bank of Commerce, located at 326 N. Ave. G in Crowley, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 13.
The event is free and open to the public.
