A Eunice woman employed at the Pine Prairie Correctional Center was arrested for malfeasance in office on April 2, according to a news release from Pine Prairie Police Chief L. C. Deshotel.
Pine Prairie Police received a complaint from Pine Prairie Correctional Center about possible inappropriate activity between a detainee and an employee.
Through evidence found during a search of inmate property, it was found that an employee had communication with a detainee outside of her job duties.
April M. Curtis, 39, of the 800 block of South Beulah Street, Eunice, was arrested afterwards without incident and take to the Evangeline Parish Jail, Deshotel stated.
Bail was set at $20,000.
