4-1A All-District baseball list released

St. Edmund won its district baseball championship and the Blue Jays placed 10 players on the post season All-District 4-1A list.
St. Edmund sophomore Peyton Marcantel (.615 batting average, 7 steals) was the district MVP and first team catcher.
Blue Jay head coach Barry Manuel was named the district coach of the year.
St. Edmund junior Dawson Ardoin (2-1) was named first team pitcher along with Christian Manuel (2-0) from Oberlin as well as Grand Lake’s Kade Delcambre (3-0) and Jaren Sonnier (3-1).
Merryville’s Zach Cleveland (.478 BA) was first team first baseman, while Blue Jay junior Brock Bieber (.500 BA, 8 steals) was first team second baseman.
Gage Roberson (.438 BA, 15 RBI) from Merryville earned first team third baseman honors, while Grand Lake’s Drew Young (.423 BA) was named first team short stop.
Blue Jay junior Jack Miller (.324 BA, 9 steals) was named to the first team outfield along with Cheyenne Citizen (.241 BA) from Oberlin and Merryville’s J.T. Gargis (.310 BA, 10 steals).
St. Edmund junior Kayden Fontenot (.320 BA, 8 steals) was selected as first team utility player along with Kellon McCleon (.645 BA, 11 steals) from Oberlin, Hamilton Christian’s Corbyn McEntyre (.385 BA), Brett Bell (.375 BA) from Merryville as well as Grand Lake’s Aaron Young (.518, 9 doubles) and Dylan David (.364 BA).
St. Edmund’s Brad Miller and Phillip Fontenot were selected as second team pitchers along with Kole Royer from Merryville and Oberlin’s Trevor Rider.
Meryville’s J.D. Reaves was named second team catcher, while Alex Fontenot from Oberlin was selected second team first baseman.
Grand Lake’s Jesse Del Rosal was named second team second baseman, while Levi Peloquin from Oberlin was selected second team third baseman.
St. Edmund’s Will Turk was named second team shortstop.
Second team outfielders included St. Edmund’s Brad Miller, Kris Reina from Grand Lake and Oberlin’s Jared Joubert.
St. Edmund’s Remi Guillory was selected second team utility player along with Trooper Peloquin and Seth Rider from Oberlin, South Cameron’s Brayden Richard, Causey Owen from Merryville and Grand Lake’s Bryce Fontenot.
