Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred just after midnight on June 21 in the 6100 block of Standard Mill Road.
The homeowner was awakened by two armed black males, wearing ski masks and gloves.
The suspects then demanded the victim to unlock a safe within the residence. Once the safe was opened, the suspects removed an AR-15 rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun, several pieces of jewelry and currency before fleeing the residence.
It appears that the suspects had prior knowledge of the safe within the residence, possibly indicating that they either knew the victim or had information regarding the safe and its contents.
