Six LSU Eunice sophomores are continuing their softball careers at the next level.
NJCAA All-American Mima Doucet is heading to Southeastern Louisiana University along with teammate Emily Henderson.
Doucet was also named to the NFCA NJCAA Division II as she becomes just the sixth LSUE softball student-athlete to receive a first-team nomination by both the NJCAA and NFCA.
As the Lady Bengal third baseman, Doucet lead the team and nation in doubles with 29.
That mark also broke the LSUE single-season record set by fellow Notre Dame alum Taylor Simon in 2013.
Doucet led the team in batting average (.455), runs (79), hits (100) and stolen bases (39).
Her 100 hits are the third most in single-season program history and her runs scored are also third-most at LSUE.
Doucet also finished the 2018 season with 10 home runs, 55 RBI and led the team with 32 walks and eight hit by pitches.
Henderson was a 2017 All-American and earned 2018 All-Region honors as the sophjomore helped lead the Lady Bengals to the NJCAA Division II world series.
Henderson capped off her LSUE career with a .374 batting average, 71 hits, 12 home runs, 46 RBI, 16 doubles. 31 walks ans 18 steals.
Henderson and Doucet join former LSUE All-American Rebecca Skains at SLU.
LSUE catcher Haley Godeaux and outfielder Sierra Gasca are heading the University of Arkansas at Monticello, joining former Lady Bengal pitcher Abigail Leonards.
Godeaux was named to the NJCAA Division II All-Region first team as she hit for a .314 batting average.
The Cecilia product was second on the team in doubles (19) and third in stolen bases (28). She also had 53 hits, 30 RBI, eight walks.
Godeaux threw out 27 of the 33 baserunners that attempted to steal this season.
Gasca finished the season with a .416 batting average with 34 runs scored, 64 hits, three doubles, eight walks and 36 steals.
Infielder Darian Doucet and catcher Lakyn Wales are heading to LSU Alexandria.
Wales (Zachary High) finished the 2018 season with a .286 batting average with 21 runs scored, 36 hits, six doubles, two home runs, 26 RBI, 12 walks and four stolen bases.
Darian Doucet (Sulphur High) had a .272 batting average over 46 games with 22 runs scored, 25 hits, eight doubles, three home runs and a slugging percentage of .457.
Doucet also had 29 walks, four hit by pitch and 12 stolen bases.
LSU Eunice finished the season 49-20 overall and fourth in the national tourament.
Mima Doucet and Henderson also earned NJCAA Academic All-American honors.
