A Rayne couple, John and Chasitty Mullins, were arrested by Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputies after an investigation into a report of elderly abuse, according to a news release from Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson.
The investigation revealed that a caregiver used physical abuse against a 75-year-old female who suffers from dementia.
Chasitty Mullins, 48, was charged with cruelty to the infirmed and bond was set at $75,000. John Mullins, 55, was charged with accessory after the fact of cruelty of the infirmed with bond at $10,000.
Both were booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
